This is a role that will require you to greet our staff in Methven and transport them in a safe, friendly and informative manner to and from our Ski Area. Additionally, you will shuttle guests (and their gear) around our car parks, as well as assist the rest of the Roads Department with their daily duties.
This is a varied and autonomous rolethat would suit anyone who enjoys interacting with guests as well as holding the relevant licenses.
About the Role
responsible for transporting staff to/from Methven to the Ski Area daily, as well as transporting our guests from the lower car parks to the base area and back again at the end of the day
driving in a manner to maximise fuel efficiency and guest comfort
safe and courteous driving practices at all times
loading all skis and snowboards on the ski racks for the guests to a safe and secure standard
adherence to schedules/timetables
assist with bus loading as required
respond to weather and road conditions
deliver friendly and engaging service to all guests of Mt Hutt
efficient snow chain fitting, removal and correct storage
proper management of customer complaints and queries
clear, concise & timely two-way radio communications
bus start-up checks and procedures completed correctly each morning
other duties may include car parking, road patrolling, snow gritting/clearing and assisting guests with their snow chains
assisting other departments, such as Food and Beverage, as required
About You
to perform in this role effectively, you will need to exceed our guests' expectations with personable hosting and professional driving standards
this job can often be physically demanding and requires a reasonable level of fitness
willing to assist in other departments and take on additional duties as required
an understanding that employment is subject to the vagaries of the weather and the hours of work cannot be guaranteed
Skills and Qualifications
a valid NZ driver's licence, class 2 licence and P endorsement must be obtained prior to commencement of employment
proven light vehicle, loader and truck driving skills on snow and ice would be an advantage
