We are seeking a capable and suitably experienced professional to join The Hotel Britomart in the position of full time Sustainability & Purchasing Coordinator.
Reporting to the Operations Manager/General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and managing sustainability initiatives at The Hotel Britomart.
This role would be ideal for someone working withing the hospitality industry with a passoion for sustainability, looking to get their foot in the door in their first sustainability focused role.
About the role:
Collaborate with hotel management and department heads to develop and implement comprehensive sustainability strategies.
Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption, water usage, waste generation, and carbon emissions throughout hotel operations.
Analyse data and prepare regular reports to assess progress, identify trends, and recommend areas for improvement.
Develop and implement waste management strategies to minimise landfill waste and increase recycling rates.
Establish criteria for evaluating suppliers based on sustainability performance and ethical practices.
Build relationships with local community organizations, NGOs, and government agencies.
Collaborate on projects aimed at enhancing the environmental and social well-being of the local community.
Collaborate with department heads to understand their purchasing needs and requirements.
Receive incoming shipments of goods and supplies.
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Maintain procurement records, including purchase orders, invoices, and contracts.
Monitor inventory levels to agreed PAR levels.
To be successful in this role you will have:
A passion for sustainability.
1 year experience within the hospitality and hotel industry.
Eye for detail coupled with a strong ability to proactively identify, prioritize and manage multiple tasks, and successfully accomplish objectives in a busy and challenging workplace.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent presentation and grooming.
