Are you an experienced Planner seeking diversity in your work and ready to take that next step in your career? As the result of growth, we have an opportunity for a Senior Planner in our Resource Consents team, which will draw on your technical expertise (processing regional, land use and subdivision applications) and your leadership ability in a Unitary Authority context.

Our team has the unique opportunity to process a stimulating range of notified and non-notified consents ranging from:
comprehensive housing development and inner city apartments
water permits, air and coastal discharges with a significant and complex science component
hillside earthworks and subdivisions
conventional resource consents
It is a dynamic time for development in Nelson due to rapid growth and a high demand for residential land, resulting in a fast-paced work environment and varied workload.
About you | Ko ngā pūmanawa ōu
To be successful in your application, a relevant qualification is required and ideally you will have experience as a Planner within a Unitary Authority or both regional and district Councils. Our Senior Planner role will have one direct report, so experience leading or mentoring others would be an advantage, as would experience with processing subdivisions.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week Monday – Friday
