We are looking for a fulltime Accounts Officer to join our Hilton team. This position performs a general accounts role including activities related to the accounts payable, accounts receivable and/or income audit functions and the effective management of documentation in the department.
About the role
What will you be doing?
You will be based at the Cluster office in Auckland CBD, working under the general direction of the Central Shared Services Finance Manager. You will also be responsible for:
Reconciling supplier statements, promptly following up and actioning any discrepancies in conjunction with the relevant local Hotel Finance Team
Timely and accurately processing of all invoices on to the accounting systems, preparing batches with correct coding, suppliers' numbers, department head approval and supporting documentation
Timely payment of all Hotel accounts in accordance with Hotel policy and guidelines
Balance all Food & Beverage revenue between Point Of Sale system and Property Management System, balance daily statistics
Check and verify Night Audit reconciliations
Balance credit card batches for Front Office and F&B outlets to the Property Management System
Balance and import the General Cashier report on a daily basis
Input employee and entertainment meals onto a spreadsheet and submit this on a monthly basis to the Accountant
Distribute audited rebates and paid cuts to relevant department heads
Ensuring customer invoices are sent timely through the proper channels
Following up on outstanding payments from customers
What are we looking for?
1 year experience with accounts, ideally within a hotel environment
Proficiency with computers, Excel and a computerised accounting system.
Knowledge of NAVISION systems preferred
A friendly and outgoing personality with a proactive, "can do" approach.
Well organised and methodical with excellent accuracy and attention to detail
Good planning and prioritising skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
A flexible team player with good communication skills
Strong numeracy preferably with secondary school passes in Maths or Accounting
