About the Mahi (Role)
The Dunedin clinic is growing and we are on the lookout for a Clinical Psychologist to join our team.
You will deliver psychology support across a diverse range of contracts including Pain management, Psychology Services, and Training for independence, as well as private insurers and employer services.
You will work with a range of clients across the lifespan of their injuries and clinical presentations, such as persistent pain, adjustment to physical injury, anxiety, low mood, and trauma.
The role involves completing psychological assessments, providing evidence-based psychological input, and communicating with the team to help our clients make the most out of their lives.
Key Tasks:
Carry out thorough assessments and make recommendations with sound clinical reasoning
Provide written and verbal summaries of assessments, with clear treatment goals and rationales
Provide effective psychology treatment to TBI Health clients
Collaborate with members of the MDT
Responsible for ensuring all contract clinical reports and referrer letters are completed at an acceptable standard within contracted timeframes

About the Dunedin team
The Dunedin team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, and Administrators. We have strong connections with Neuropsychologists, Neurologists, Social Workers, Dietitians, Speech Language Therapists, etc within the area who work closely with the team on a case-by-case basis. The team culture is fun and social. We love to have a good laugh together and work collaboratively.
Some great staff success stories originated from this clinic. Some of the current team members have the opportunity to contribute their expertise by taking on additional roles such as Hauora Connect local champion, Health and Safety Committee member, Supervisor, etc.
Be part of a team that has achieved some great things in the equity space as well. They continue to increase the cultural capability of the team and build new networks in the community with Māori health providers and local iwi.
The Dunedin team has two clinics, one is located on High Street and the second is on Albany Street in the Dunedin CBD . We have a close-knit, friendly, and passionate team. About You
This is a clinical role, therefore you must have a degree in Psychology and a minimum of 3 years clinical experience.
Previous experience working with ACC contracts including concussion would be beneficial, however, this is not essential.
