Ko te kaupapa | About the role

Stanford House, widely recognised as a progressive, creative, and innovative forensic service, part of the Central Regional Forensic Mental Health and Addiction Service, is seeking an experienced, suitably qualified team focussed, clinical psychologist.

This is an opportunity for you to join a multidisciplinary recovery focussed service providing a range of assessment, treatment and recovery services for adult inpatients. You will provide quality comprehensive evidenced based assessment and therapeutic interventions.

Stanford House is a forensic inpatient service for adults with serious disruptions to their mental health. Our multidisciplinary team works hard to provide excellence in care, in partnership with people and their families along the Let's Get Real framework.

If you are prepared to work hard in our rehabilitation environment and are committed to best practice care we will offer you a comprehensive orientation, training opportunities as well as support and opportunities for advancement in your professional development.

To apply for this position you must be a registered clinical psychologist who has completed a post graduate diploma in clinical psychology (or equivalent) and a masters or doctoral level degree in psychology and have a current practising certificate (New Zealand), a current full driver's license and the ability to participate in the management of aggression.

The successful candidate will ideally possess the following attributes and skills:

The ability to establish sound, trusting, therapeutic relationships with people

A sound level of computer literacy

The desire to actively engage in professional development and ongoing training

A Police Clearance

A current New Zealand drivers' licence

Be able to demonstrate registration with the New Zealand Psychology Board
