Our client is the Kiwifruit industry leader when it comes to grower-owned post harvest operations, with facilities in six locations in the Bay of Plenty.
They’re on the lookout for a motivated & driven individual to come on board as their Coolstore Team Leader, in a full time, permanent capacity.
Reporting to the Assistant Coolstore Manager, you will assist with leading, supporting and training a large team of Coolstore forklift operators to ensure best practice and safety procedures are always followed. To be effective in this role, you will need to work closely with other shift team leaders, be enthusiastic and willing to go the extra mile.
Successful applicants will need to have the ability to multi-task, retain information and continuously ensure information is being conveyed accurately to ensure the team are working on top priorities and standard checks are being completed.
You don't have to have worked in the industry before, but it is essential that you have proven leadership experience that can transfer into this busy, fast paced environment where no two days are the same.
You will also need:
To demonstrate a strong awareness and focus on health and safety responsibilities.
To enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, where you can problem solve and react quickly to changing circumstances.
To work well with a diverse range of people
To be able to make good decisions when working under pressure.
A positive attitude, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Flexibility to work sometimes long hours during our busy seasons (which will include weekends).
Outstanding communication skills - you must be able to lead and inspire your teams and this will be easily achieved by strong communicators
Ideally you’ll be someone who has experience within a warehousing / logistics environment, where you’ve managed a team previously.
