We are seeking a proactive, energetic and resilient person to lead the practice and management of a strong team of social work professionals who provide support to clients via an extensive range of services. This opportunity provides opportunities for collaboration and encourages innovative leadership within the Canterbury region.
To undertake the role you will need to be:
Experienced at leading and managing staff, preferably within social services
Knowledgeable with a current understanding of relevant practice standards
Familiar with or have a sound understanding of the social services sector including contract management and reporting
Passionate about working with tamariki and whanau
If you thrive on variety, enjoy flexible working conditions, have in-depth experience leading, managing and developing staff and have previously worked in a leadership role, then this could be right for you. To be successful in the position you will need to exhibit excellent communication skills, flexibility in your approach, be full of energy and be a strategic thinker.
Skills and Experience

Proven successful leadership/management experience and skills
Flexibility and resilience to meet the needs of the role
Proven financial management skills & expertise
Experience in the not for profit or government sector (preferable)
Proven ability to interpret & understand relevant practice & employment legislation
Sound knowledge of government/funding processes and systems
A current clean full NZ driver’s licence
