The role:
Based at Toi Whanau Health in Onehunga, the General Practitioner provides direct-to-patient primary care, patient interventions and treatment both within the medical practice and via online virtual care services. The GP is expected to work at the top of the scope and must be open to delivering care in new and modern ways. Care provided will be whanau-centric culturally appropriate and evidence based.
About you:
We are looking for an experienced and confident General Practitioner to play a pivotal role at Toi Whanau Health. You will be passionate, empathetic and driven by improving health outcomes for Māori and Pasifika.
Working across a diverse ethnic group, you will be confident in interacting across Polynesian cultural frameworks and sensitive to the needs of those communities.
NHC are a Kaupapa Māori organization so you will have a strong, personal connection to Tikanga Māori and whilst you may not be fluent, have a desire to start your Te Reo journey.
Desired experience:
• Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery
• Current registration as a GP in New Zealand (with annual practicing certificate)
• Indemnity insurance cover
• Minimum of 3 years as a practicing GP
• Proven ability to work in diverse ethnic communities, especially Māori and Pasifika
• Excellent time management and collaborative work style
• Empathetic, approachable and strong communicator
