EQC Toka Tū Ake is an Aotearoa (NZ) Crown entity that invests in natural disaster research and education as well as providing natural disaster insurance to residential property owners. The purpose of this role is to provide technical construction knowledge and support alongside the ability to manage On-sold applications, with experience and knowledge relating to natural disaster damage.
You will provide your high-level technical expertise in conjunction with application management and resolution experience relating to natural disaster assessments, repair methodologies, repair costings and review of engineering and other specialist reports as required.
You will support the wider On-sold team including Settlement Specialists, Claim Managers and the Technical Support Team and may also support the legal team where required.
You will manage a portfolio of complex applications to resolution, using resources within and outside the On-solds team to support the settlement and reinstatement of all outstanding earthquake damage of a property.
Your confident and engaging manner and excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to quickly build effective working relationships across all levels. You will be a credible and trusted person who is actively sought out for their advice, influence, and collaborative approach to health, safety, security, and wellbeing business performance.
Ko wai koe | About You
Qualified LBP with sound practical and technical knowledge of residential house construction and repair techniques
Previous experience as a Resolution Specialists, Technical Resolutions Specialists, or Settlement Specialist - minimum 6 years' experience
Insurance Industry experience, including loss adjustment experience
Natural disaster assessment and EQC act knowledge and experience
A robust knowledge of:
the local (and to the extent relevant regional) authority consenting requirements for residential house construction and repair
requirements under the Building Act (including the building Code, associated MBIE Guidelines and New Zealand Standards) relevant to residential house construction and repair
