Featherston School Te Kura O Paetūmokai is a highly regarded kura with a proud history. We have amazing tamariki, a dedicated staff, and a fantastic whānau and community that really supports our kura. Our rich local curriculum is underpinned by Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Marautanga o Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairarapa me Rangitane o Wairarapa. It provides our tamariki with a rich understanding of Ko Wai Au – who they are and where they are from while still prioritising the core curriculum. Te Ao Māori remains an integral part of who we are as a kura but we also acknowledge and celebrate our multicultural origins.

The Tumuaki of our Kura will be:

A leader who is committed to leading with strong focus on the hauora of our tamariki, staff, whānau and wider community.

A leader who is an excellent communicator and builds strong relationships with people. They will be fair, honest, respectful, and have integrity.

A leader who is visible, known and involved with our tamariki, our staff, our whānau, and out in our wonderful artisan community.

An experienced, strong and professional leader who is passionate about equitable outcomes for all within the Kura community.

A leader committed to their own learning who is ready to try new ideas and lead a forward-thinking team.

A leader who encourages and inspires the Featherston School Te Kura O Paetūmokai team.

A leader who models the values and principles of Featherston School Te Kura o Paetūmokai to our tamariki, kaiako, whānau and wider community.

This is an exciting opportunity that will be both challenging and rewarding for the successful candidate.
