Westland High School is seeking a dynamic and motivated outdoor education teacher to join our well established and renowned outdoor education programme. Applicants should state supporting subjects.
Hokitika is the gateway to outdoor experiences with beautiful beaches, rugged coastlines and majestic mountains. The Westland district offers some of the country’s most stunning landscapes right on your doorstep with access to ski fields, glaciers, kayaking, mountain climbing, hunting, tramping, fishing and a wonderful lifestyle.
The successful candidate will be experienced, flexible and adaptable and willing to take on and implement new ideas whilst retaining the values of the School. We are a Manaiakalani digital school who embraces technology.
To be successful in this role you must be a NZ registered teacher. You will also need:
Relevant qualifications in outdoor education
Ability to teach physical education and health
A willingness to learn, upskill and grow
Good communication skills and a commitment to culturally responsive pedagogy
Be reflective and prepared to contribute to continuous improvement.
