With market leading brands in our portfolio including Formica, Laminex, Melteca, Lakepine MDF and Caesarstone, Laminex NZ offers residential and commercial solutions for all interior spaces, from benchtops and cabinetry, through to structural flooring, wall lining and commercial joinery.

While the current Taupo plant produces fine surface particle board, a new $ million plant is being built on the Taupo site. This modern plant will triple the production volumes and will offer interesting challenges to the team going forward; working with the old, and also being introduced to the new!

We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Mechanical and Facilities Engineer to join our team on a fixed term basis until the end of 6, potential beyond. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our mechanical and facilities engineering functions, ensuring the efficient operation of our manufacturing facility.

Leading the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems within the facility.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in manufacturing processes and equipment.

Conducting thorough inspections and implementing preventive maintenance strategies to optimize machinery and facilities performance.

Providing expert troubleshooting for mechanical issues, ensuring minimal downtime through timely solutions.

Managing facility infrastructure comprehensively, overseeing utilities and building maintenance including relevant capital improvement works.

Ensure compliance with specifications and codes to ensure compliance to all Building WOFs requirements.

Annual budget preparation and compliance to budget for all site services.

Develop improvement plans for all site services assets to ensure reliability across the manufacturing facility.

Championing environmental health and safety initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

ABOUT YOU:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

At least 3 years experience in mechanical and facilities engineering roles, demonstrating advanced problem-solving abilities.

Outstanding communication skills and a proven track record of effective teamwork.

Ability to autonomously manage multiple tasks and initiatives with precision.

Previous experience in manufacturing or facilities engineering environments are highly desirable.

Be available outside of working hours incase assistance is needed with a fault (not often required, but good to mention!)
