Bay of Plenty Community Adult Drug and Alcohol Team (Tauranga or Whakatāne)

Employment Type: Permanent - 1 FTE

We currently have a permanent vacancy for an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Health Professional/Case Manager to join our Community Adult Drug and Alcohol Team. You will work with the team to assess, plan and deliver treatment to clients with substance-use issues. The service operates Monday to Friday during office hours.

This is a case management role for our secondary addiction service, but there is an option to do some intake/triage work as part of the role.

We are part of the Adult Mental Health Services based in the beautiful Bay of Plenty. Our Alcohol and Other Drug service is a multidisciplinary team of Nursing, Allied Health, Psychology, Psychiatry, Administrative Support and Leadership staff. We offer our services across the Bay of Plenty in a variety of settings, including at satellite services and in the client's home. We have a learning and supportive culture within the team, which leads to opportunities for growth and empowerment for individual staff members and the service.

We currently have a vacancy in the secondary addiction service based in both Eastern and Western Bay of Plenty therefore the role has flexibility in where it is based – either in Tauranga or Whakatāne. We are looking for someone with at least 2 years post-registration experience in a mental health, addictions and/or substance withdrawal settings. You will have great communication skills and be able to work in a busy team environment, but we will also consider applications from less experienced clinicians if they have the personal qualities we are looking for.

An ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team is essential for this role, as are excellent assessment, risk management and interpersonal / communication skills.

This position is open to Registered Nurses, Social Workers, and Occupational Therapists and DAPAANZ-registered clinicians. This is a permanent position however there is flexibility in the FTE and we would be interested to hear from candidates who are looking for part-time hours, a fixed-term contract or a secondment from another Hauora a Toi mental health team.
