We are seeking a Mental Health Practitioner to join our Multi-Disciplinary Team that works with individuals across the Wellington region experiencing a range of Mental Health challenges. You will have the opportunity to work one to one with individuals as well as facilitating groups and workshops.

The Community Services Team is on an exciting journey as we prepare for new services to open, including Whakamaru and Te Ō. Whakamaru is a new and pioneering community hub development in the heart of the city that will reshape the way we deliver care and support for our community. Te Ō is Wellingtons own Single Site Supported Housing. Both pioneering developments in the heart of Wellington.

The Role
If you are looking for a new challenge, we have a great opportunity as a Mental Health Practitioner working within our supportive Community Services Multi-Disciplinary Team. You will find the work extremely rewarding because you’ll make a real difference in the lives of people using our service.
As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will provide brief intervention support for people with mental health challenges and/or addictions. Your work will focus on the individual’s mental health needs and providing them with the tools and ability to be successful.
You will be located at our Newtown office, which will allow you to be connected with the professional and clinical support of a multidisciplinary team. This role will require some on call duties, which will be remunerated, and would be on a roster
About you
To be successful in this role you will:
Be a registered Mental Health Professional (Nurse, OT, Psychologist, AOD Practitioner)
Have a current practicing certificate, or you will be a Counsellor with Drug and Alcohol Practitioners' Association Aotearoa (DAAPNZ) registration, or an NZAC member.
Have experience and qualifications in providing recognised therapy such as: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) or similar. (If you are in the final stage of completing your area of therapy study, we would consider your application).
Knowledge of community resources and support networks.
Be an enthusiastic and self-motivated person who can work easily alongside our existing multidisciplinary team.
Can work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment is essential.
Experience working within a mental health and/or addiction.
Demonstrate your ability to build and maintain strong relationships and collaborate across the health and social service sector.
