Leading Neurorehabilitation Provider

Work in an Inter-disciplinary Team (IDT)

Community based – work across Auckland region.

Are you passionate about delivering rehabilitation through supporting clients who have sustained a brain injury or other acquired injury to regain independence/maximize function in a community setting?

Looking for a role where you work with clients on functional goals in a community setting?

Share a puzzle with a 7-year-oldwhile targeting fine motorskills.

Navigate a bus trip supporting a teenager with their memory & problem-solving skills.

Educate a teacher and whānau on strategies to support a child with sensory issues.

Advise on equipment to support ADLs in the home.

ABI Rehabilitation has an opportunity for an occupational therapist with experience in paediatrics and neurorehabilitationto join our progressive interdisciplinary community team. We are a leader in the field of brain injury rehabilitation and an accredited provider of community-basedrehabilitation for clients with multi-trauma, birth-injury, concussion, and traumatic brain injury. There are opportunities to work with clients across a range of ages and injury types in community settings throughout the Auckland region.

Your keys to success:

You love having a positive impact on people’s lives using family-centred models ofpractice.

You want to provide hands on, practical assessment andintervention.

You are comfortable working independently, and also enjoy working as part of a dynamicinterdisciplinary team.

You have a full driver'slicense and are comfortable driving across Auckland, as most clientsare seen at home/schools.

You are registered with the OT Board of New Zealand and have a current practicingcertificate.

You have at least 2 years’ experience working with clients with neurologicalinjuries.

Previous experience in pediatrics, community or neuro rehabilitation or concussion servicesare preferable.

You will be provided with:

Phone and laptop for work purposes.

Car for client services

Access to EAP

Reimbursement for registration with OT board

Clinical supervision

The role requires you to work autonomously as well as in close coordination with the IDT rehabilitation team. On the job training will be provided from our skilled and supportive team, and we are committed to evidence-basedpractice, and ongoing support and training. There are opportunities for contribution to service development including development of NZ practice guidelines, links to AUT research projects, and opportunities for student supervision.

We have a strong client and whānau/family focus andapply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi through the implementation of Te Hekenga-ā-ora (ABI’s Māori Development Plan), to ensure equitable outcomes.
