Position Summary

We are currently recruiting for a Head of Finance, for Samsung Electronics New Zealand. You will be responsible for managing a team of 4. You will be managing and controlling the functional areas of the Financial Accounting department. The main areas you will be responsible for are Accounts Payable, Treasury and Taxation. With additional tasks including external financial reporting, general ledger, month end closing, payroll support and compliance. Position Summary

You will be managing and controlling the functional areas of the Financial Accounting department. The main areas you will be responsible for are Accounts Payable, Treasury and Taxation. With additional tasks including external financial reporting, general ledger, month end closing, payroll support and compliance. Role and Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

Management of the Accounts Payable team and related activities, with responsibility for maintaining vendor master data integrity, and ensuring on time payment of all suppliers and staff expense claims within a strict weekly timetable. (includes Marketing, HR and GA suppliers, Service Agents, voe refunds and Warranty replacement, Logistics 3PL Inter Company Netting payments)

Daily review and approval of all supplier invoices, and staff expense claims. Advice, guidance and point of contact for supplier queries and staff expense claims.

Treasury

Relationship management with local and offshore banking partners and Samsung Regional Treasury HQ

Cash Flow Management - Responsibility for ensuring cash balances are managed efficiently and sufficient cash is available to meet payment obligations

Daily and monthly cash flow forecasting to Treasury RHQ, of cash balances in the vicinity of $25m NZD

Daily Bank Reconciliation for 1 local NZD account, and 3 offshore accounts (NZD, USD and AUD).

Foreign Currency Management - Monitoring of all foreign currency balances, executing and settling hedging transactions in accordance with RHQ policy and ensuring funds available as required.

Program Management and nominated Program Administrator of the bank's employee credit card facility, overseeing allocation of cards to staff and monitoring expenditure

Company CTA Program - Program Management and nominated Program Administrator of the Bank's CTA Travel Card facility, overseeing and monitoring transaction, travel approval and settlement of card balance

Taxation

Responsibility for all tax compliance matters, including Corporate Income Tax, GST, FBT.

Tax calculations and general ledger accounting and journals for all tax types.

Monthly reporting to RHQ and HQ of Corporate Income Tax entries, using GTMS tool.

Provide advice across the organisation on tax related issues, NZ Taxation (Income Tax, GST, FBT) Manage the relationship with external tax advisors (PWC).

Transfer Pricing and APA Management.

Manage tax risk and optimize tax opportunities in accordance with legislation

External Financial Reporting

Statutory Financial Statements and External Audit Preparation of annual and quarterly statutory accounts for the company, together with supporting schedules, and coordination with the auditors (PWC).

Compliance with NZ and international IFRS/ IAS, understanding, interpretation and providing advice on implementation and execution as required.

SEGAM (Samsung Electronics Group Accounting Manual) - implement according to required standards and procedures.

General Ledger and Month-End Closing

Month end closing (SAP Fl module) - completion of month end close, coordinating the processing of journal entries, P&L and Balance Sheet review, GL Reconciliation review, and Fixed Assets Register maintenance.

Management of all cash book and general journal entries and postings according to daily Processing deadlines.

Finalising month end close within group reporting deadlines.

Others

Finance Lead on systems and project related tasks, implementation of the rollout of tools such as Credit Card Administration, On line Travel booking, and my Finance.

Payroll support and back up for payroll as and when required.

Update and Compliance with GPPM policy documents Preparation of ad hoc financial information as required for management decision making, NZ Statistics returns, Procedure Documentation and Work Instructions, Document Management, Record Keeping Storage and Archive. Establishing, developing and implementing effective financial accounting controls and systems. Maintain GPPM policy documents. Liaise with and provide general accounting advice to all departments, and facilitating Finance Essentials training as required. Any other additional tasks that may be required.

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting and CA qualified.

Between 5-10 years relevant accounting career experience

Proven people management experience, leading small-to-mid size team

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people from different fields and cultures

High level of organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise conflicting deadlines

Strong influencing skills and the ability to gain respect from all levels of the business
