We are seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role can be based in one of our many offices across New Zealand. Our team is committed to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions to complex structural engineering projects. We currently have a wide variety of technical work across several sectors, including all aspects of marine structures, large-scale retaining structures, tunnels, foundations, coastal infrastructure, bridges, roads, and rail.

With T+T, you will work with excellent clients and our multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and planners through the whole life of a project - from concept design and consenting to tender and construction - you will get to see your designs get built. You will be responsible for delivering projects with respect to structural design, quality, programme, leadership, mentoring, and budgets. This will include interfacing and coordinating outcomes from related disciplines such as geology, hydrogeology, geotechnical engineering, and contaminated land.
What you'll bring
Relevant BE (hons) or MEng qualification in Civil Engineering
Chartered Civil Engineer (CPEng or overseas equivalent e.g. IStructE)
Ideally, 15+ years' experience in structural design, with an emphasis on civil structures including bridges, tunnels, retaining structures and marine structures.
Strong analytical and design skills
Expert witness or insurance experience
Emphasis on simple, robust solutions to complex issues
Project management
Client relationship management
Experience in a consulting environment at a senior level
Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
Proven ability to deliver a quality product on time
Strong delegation skills with the ability to coach and support junior engineers.
