General Manager Operations and Funding

Are you ready to lead and innovate within one of New Zealand's premier cricket associations? The Bay of Plenty Cricket Association is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager of Operations and Funding to spearhead their operations. This role is essential in steering the strategic planning, execution, and ongoing improvement of their operational and financial initiatives.
As the General Manager, you will oversee all facets of the association's operations, from managing elite competitions and social media platforms to securing funding through sponsorships and grants. Your expertise will enhance our event management, operational tasks, and the development of cricket at all levels within the Bay of Plenty region.
Key responsibilities include:
Competitions Management: Organise and oversee the Bay of Plenty Cricket Association Premier Competition and support major tournaments like the Bay of Plenty Gillette Cup and Venus Cup.
Social Media and Website Management: Lead their digital engagement strategy to enhance visibility and community interaction.
Funding and Sponsorship: Develop and execute strategies to secure vital funds and sponsorships.
Operational Management: Handle day-to-day operational duties, event management, and logistical coordination.
Financial Oversight: Oversee the annual budget process and use Xero for day-to-day financials.
Development Programs: Lead initiatives to support the development of coaches, clubs, umpires, and sub-associations.
Board Liaison: Maintain a transparent and constructive relationship with the Bay of Plenty Cricket Association Board, ensuring alignment and accountability.
Background required:
Experienced in Sports Management or a related field.
Proven track record in operations, event management, and acquiring funding within a sports context.
Proven experience in successful stakeholder and relationship management.
Exceptional organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
Strong passion for cricket, strategic thinker, and a problem solver.
