Community Wellbeing North Canterbury Trust (CWNCT) has a strong history spanning 35 years in the provision of flexible and responsive, high quality free social services to whānau and tamariki across the largely rural area of North Canterbury. (Waimakariri and Hurunui Districts)
The Trust currently provides a range of over 13 innovative, inclusive, impactful, services which aim to empower people to meet life’s challenges in an increasingly challenging environment. Funding for these services is a combination of Government funding contracts, philanthropic grants and fundraising.
This new position of Finance & Administration Manager, reporting to the Trust Manager, will be responsible for operational accounting (including payroll), financial control and performance, and preparing and presenting monthly reports to the Trust Board.
Initially the role will be responsible for bringing the Trust’s finance and accounting functions in-house, transitioning these from an external service provider.
Alongside this, a key requirement is to lead and support a small high functioning Shared Services team ensuring smooth and efficient Trust operations relating to fundraising, property, fleet vehicle management, ITC, health and safety and HR.
We are seeking a Finance & Administration Manager who brings strong accounting and systems expertise to the Trust, and a leadership approach which connects to the Trust’s values and aspirations. Key attributes include:
Proven experience managing a full spectrum of financial activities, including budgeting, funding, compliance management, contract management, accounts and payroll reconciliation.
A collaborative leadership style that reflects strong relationships with colleagues, the Board, and external stakeholders.
Working in a Xero environment, you will also be adept at leading systems and process improvements and have an oversight of IT for the Trust.
Overseeing CWNCT’s HR systems, processes and policies, ensuring they are relevant and compliant.
Contributing to development projects, providing timely and robust financial and risk analysis.
A tertiary qualification in accounting with a minimum of five years’ experience.
