This is a fantastic opportunity for an Abdominal / Pelvic / O&G Radiologist to join the Waikato Hospital Radiology team, where you’ll work with other sub-spec trained colleagues and develop and grow your own professional interests.

The position is based in the friendly city of Hamilton with the benefits of an affordable cost of living, a vibrant arts and culture scene, outdoor activities on your doorstep and good schools; the perfect family lifestyle. You can choose to live in the city or more rurally with only a 20-30 minute commute to work. Located centrally in the heart of the North Island, close to beaches, mountains, lakes and forests, with a domestic airport and Auckland only an hour away, Hamilton truly is a welcoming community and an ideal place to call home.

Waikato Hospital is a tertiary training hospital with a Level 1 Trauma Centre serving the whole Waikato region: one of the busiest in New Zealand. The Radiology Department carries out approximately 200,000 examinations each year with a major focus on Emergency and Trauma imaging and Oncology.

You will be reporting a broad mix of complex clinical cases within your area of expertise, including hepatobiliary/pancreas, urology, gynaecology, gastrointestinal diseases. A skills set including obstetric US & MRI would be an advantage. Your workload will also include general radiology and acute imaging. You will participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, teach registrars, and be involved with the continual development of high standards within the department.

A competitive salary package and comprehensive benefits including six weeks annual leave, superannuation, paid indemnity insurance, up to 10 days continuing medical education (CME) leave and expenses. Medical Council of NZ fees are reimbursed, and a relocation allowance is on offer.

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

Fellowship training or formal sub-speciality experience in Abdominal Radiology. Desirable skills include sub-speciality experience in CT colonography, male and female pelvic MRI, O& G imaging.

You need to be qualified in a comparable health system and eligible for registration as a Specialist Diagnostic Radiologist with the Medical Council of New Zealand. We will help you gain registration plus support you through your entire relocation process.
