The Team works across vital areas such as regulating compliance with the Building Code and Building Act on large array of commercial and residential projects dealing with a range of professionals within the building industry
About the role
This is a pivotal leadership role where you can make your mark and showcase your talents.
As an experienced people leader, you will be responsible for a team that develop and implement operational policies and procedures within our Building Unit. You'll be a natural at working closely with other related teams and stakeholders to identify policy gaps, develop new policies, as well as updating the existing ones.
You'll also play a key role for identifying and developing the necessary capabilities to support the implementation of policies and procedures. This includes identifying technology and tools needed, as well as establishing training and development programs for staff.
Overall, the Operational Policy and Capability Manager is responsible for ensuring that HCC Building Unit policies and procedures are effective, efficient, and aligned with Council's strategic goals.
About you
Your leadership, people and relationship management experience will ensure your success in this role, as will your experience and qualifications in the area of operational building policy and procedure:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in policy, quality management, training, engineering, or related field
Proven experience in policy, quality management, capability development, or related field
Proven track record of successfully leading quality improvement initiatives and developing the capabilities of employees preferably in a technical environment
Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis
Driver's license
