Establish and maintain business standards for accuracy, productivity and reliability.
Manage the daily functions of the business.
Prepare annual performance review and reevaluate processes.
Ensure regulatory, compliance and legal rules are followed.
Manage budget to align with goals of business.
Manage a team of import, export, transshipment & nomination staff.
Plan for team's development, setup for SOPs where required.
Monitor and aid in solving day to day issues where needed.
Managing department budgets and get involved in setting targets.
Handle Shipping Claims where needed.
Manage elevated customer concerns and negotiate claims.
Prepare performance reports & improvement plans.
Negotiate with Carriers, Warehouse Operators or Distribution networks to determine favourable Tariffs.
Qualifications
10 years of experience in a similar role.
10 years of work experience in NVOCC preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Strong ability to multitask.
Comfort working with multiple groups within business.
A Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies or equivalent.
Strong Interpersonal Skills.
Ability to make decisions at critical moments.
Experience in using Sysfreight Software preferred.
